I have found that coaching tennis is a different challenge from day to day, week to week, month to month, season to season, and year to year.  One of the toughest things to learn is that each year your team makeup and team personality will be different.  I try to be flexible and adapt to the persona of each group.  My philosophy is to get the most out of what you are given.  Our kids may not always be the best athletes, but we will out work anyone to achieve a goal.  I can rely on kids to respond if the right buttons are pushed and the coaching is consistent.

I think that our greatest accomplishments are the kids that walk across the stage at graduation a better person for having been involved in our athletic program.  We teach class, good sportsmanship, hard work, dedication, and discipline, all lessons that carry over into real life.  The opportunity to get these points across to kids, on a tennis court, is the best thing on earth as far as I am concerned.
