"The Youngest Daughter" - A Tribute to Holly, Written by Her Nephew

All of us are in complete shock as to the passing of Holly Ford on Sunday.  Holly held the position of Treasurer for the TTCA for a very long time and her work behind the scenes at the conventions all those years were invaluable to the success of the event for all involved.  Please keep all of Holly's family, friends, players, students, and fellow coaches in your thoughts and prayers.  We will miss her dearly!

Holly Ford after graduating from Baylor with her Bachelor and Master’s degrees taught and coached 3 years at Cy-Fair High School in Houston. She then was the head tennis coach at Lindale from 1985-1990. During those years Holly qualified 10 players to the UIL state tournament and as a team qualified for the state Texas Tennis Coaches Association tournament 3 years. She also was a member of the Lindale Tennis Association and led camps and coordinated tournaments.

Holly moved to Gladewater and worked with her high school coach/mentor, Butch Clay, for 5 years. She was instrumental in the Bears qualifying for the state team tournament several years and had players make it to the UIL state tournament. Holly also coordinated many camps at Gladewater.

Holly coached at Spring Hill from 1996-2018. While at Spring Hill, Holly won numerous district championships and had many players qualify for the UIL state tournament.  In 2015, the Spring Hill tennis team placed 3rd at the UIL state team tournament. She was named TTCA coach of the year for 4A in 2015.

During the mid-90s Holly became involved in the Texas Tennis Coaches Association. She started helping with registration and then was elected treasurer for the organization in 2003. Holly held this position until retiring in 2018, but continued helping with the convention. Holly also spent the last few years volunteering at the state tennis tournaments and running local tournament sites for coaches.
