TTCA Mourns the Death of Beloved Coach "Jerry" Radicke

September 27, 1947 - October 20, 2020

 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long time former TTCA Board of Director member and beloved coach, Jerry Radicke.  Jerry Radicke of Knippa, Texas went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, October, 20, 2020 at the age of 73 years. She was born September 20, 1947 in Kenedy, Texas to Gladys Irene Radicke.

Jerry graduated salutatorian of her class from Knippa High School in 1966. She earned her Associates in Arts Degree from Southwest Texas Junior College in 1968. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science Degree from Sul Ross State University in 1970 and earned her Masters of Arts from Sul Ross State University in 1988.

Jerry was a very loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend; to know Jerry, you were blessed.

She had an immense dedication as a teacher and coach where she left a lasting impact on her students and athletes of over 50 years at Knippa ISD. She was the tennis, basketball, track, and cross country coach throughout these years. Jerry led her tennis team to state numerous times and was awarded Coach of the Year in 1990 and 2004, Regional Coach of the Year and TICA Brandon Clark Coaches Courage Award in 2014, Wilson/TTCA State Coach of the Year in 2016.
As Coach Radicke would say “It Takes a Little More to be a Rockcrusher.”

Jerry was proceeded in death by her mother, Gladys Tenberg, father, Willis “Bill” Tenberg; grandparents Arthur and Winnie Radicke and her brothers Danial Tenberg, Mark Tenberg, Bill Tenberg and Tim Tenberg; sisters Amy Tenberg, Patricia Brande, and Irene Cooksey. She is survived by her brother, Paul (Gwen) Tenberg of Hewitt, Tx; sisters, Jodi (Rocky) Angell of Floresville, Tx, and Jennifer Barkley of Uvalde, Tx. Numerous nephews and nieces.

Jerry was one of kind, she will be missed by many and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on Friday, October 30, at 4 p.m. at The Knippa School, 100 Kessler Lane, Knippa, Tx. In honor of Jerry please wear purple and facemasks will be required.
